Botox. Would you? Have You?

Do you ever look in the mirror and think "I wish I looked 10 years younger?"

Couple of weeks ago, Samantha and I both mentioned how we felt regarding the pressure to be perfect and as much as we can promote self-confidence and to hell with the media and the insecurities they create for us ageing folk, we all know there will be an occasion where you will think about the B word.

To Botox or not to Botox?

We would like to hear if you have ever considered going under the syringe or have in fact taken the plunge. Is Botox the answer to all our prayers?

It would be great to hear all of your views on this subject and how far you would go given the chance or a blank cheque.

Drop us a line below, anonymous if you so wish.

P.S.  And if you have any tips for how we can prevent the ageing process in a non-surgical manner then please tell us those too!

Fabulous Finds - H+M Colourful Homeware

Finally - FINALLY! - it's getting to that time of year where everyone is beginning to ditch the black and grey and embrace colour.

Gone are the dreary winter woolies, and gone soon (we hope) will be the grim, grey skies. In fact, if you take a look, colour is everywhere right now - in your garden, in the shops. This year, it's even in peoples' hair!

If, like us, you are wanting a colourful home too, we've found these fantastic buys from H+M. I love how fresh and energising they look - they put a real smile on my face. Plus, some of the buys also happen to be in Teresa's favourite chevron print.

Perfect for pepping up bathrooms which, let's face it, tend to be the dullest of all rooms, these are guaranteed to inject a a shot of colour into your home.

Enjoy!

Ultimate Shoe Lust - Selfridges World of Louboutin

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a woman cannot resist a pair of Louboutin shoes. In fact, buy a woman a pair of beautiful Loubis and watch her weep with joy. Don't believe me, men? Just try it...really, go on...

I have a real love affair with Louboutins because, for me, they are a work of art - from the sexy red sole to the foot-achingly high heel, they are THE ultimate shoe. There's just something about them, something extraordinary, which makes any girl stand proud. Even my hubby agrees with me!

I can still remember buying my first pair. I had just landed a job at the BBC - a job I had worked all my life for - and I desperately wanted to treat myself. Of course, when I want to treat myself, there's only one way to go...

So, I saved up all my money and trundled along to Harvey Nics in my dog-eared Primark flats (true story). I pulled out all my cash, including little bags of pound coins, and I bought the most beautiful pair of black patent, peep toe Mary Janes - with a killer platform heel, naturally.

To this day, they are still my favourite pair of shoes because they meant -that- much to me. I wandered around for the rest of the day hugging the bag tight to my chest. I refused to let go.

Anyway, with this love affair so deeply engrained, I was kinda chuffed that we happened to be in London when the Louboutin 20th Anniversary celebrations rolled into Selfridges yesterday. With an exclusive collection of limited edition shoes for sale, this is a must-see for any fellow shoe feitishist. There are even THE most exquisite handbags, crafted with miniature figurines of the Eiffel Tower, jumpers by Bella Freud and tattoos designed by Mr Louboutin himself.

For some serious shoe inspiration, take a look at these beauties, ladies! Whether you like the classic white bridal shoe, the quirky and colourful designs, or the fetish shoes (and believe me - there are some REAL fetish shoes!), there are a pair (or dozen) of Louboutins to suit every single woman in the world.

So, what are you waiting for?! The display is on in Selfridges in London until April - but you better get a move on as they've nearly all sold out already...

Gorgeous nautical striped shoes...these make me think of white, fifties-style prom dresses. Ready to wear with a cocktail in one hand, and the keys to a yacht in another...naturally...
Thigh-high boots - only fifteen pairs of these have been made! I wouldn't even dare to try these on.
Neon zip detail shoe - it's hard to see just how vivid and bright they are in this picture!
Beautiful courts. The yellow ones remind me of buttercups and all things summer, so obviously I had to get them...
Bow detail shoe
These shoes make me want to get married all over again...perfect for any brides-to-be!
Gorgeous metallic bow details, with invisible straps
Bella Freud for Louboutin knitted body
Men's boots, decorated with rubbish...yes, really!
Sexy lace boots
Gingham studded slippers for the man in your life
Handbag heaven...look at the strap detail! Miniature shoes. These handbags sold out within hours...

These boots were like miniature works of art - hand-painted

It's all in the detail...beautiful lace bag

Beauty Lust - Fabulous Figs

For some reason unbeknown to me, I have long held a beauty obsession with figs. Yep - I don't know why, but I love anything that contains that weird, purple, Mediterranean fruit.

Perhaps it's because the products figs are in tend to have a sexy, masculine smell which I associate with trips abroad, or romantic dinners. Or perhaps it's because it appeals to me when companies use natural ingredients in their formulas (who wants to slather on a lotion knee-deep in chemicals or toxic ingredients anyway?)

Whatever the reason, what is true is that figs make for fantastic beauty products! Rich in antioxidants, they help to fight any nasty, damaging effects of the sun and the environment, while also hydrating skin and restoring elasticity. They also act as a great cleanser and can help to soothe away inflammations or pesky spots. Perfect, right?

So, for anyone who wants to join me in my fig obsession, here is my pick of all things yummy...

Good Things Deep Pore Anti-Blemish Cleanser
£4.99, exclusively from Boots

Since being sent this cleanser, it has become one of my staple, fail-safe beauty products. In fact, it is so brilliant that I almost decided to scrap this post altogether so that I could write solely about my love for this cleanser!

Specially formulated for skin that is prone to breakouts and oiliness, this is a two-in-one cleanser and toner. It contains the luscious superfruits fig and wild strawberry to both smooth and soften the skin, while handy liquorice and willow bark extracts help to reduce bacteria.

Gentle enough for even the most sensitive of skins, this is the ideal product for me. It smells like absolute heaven (so much so that I was tempted to eat it!) - so much so that I actually look forward to using it, morning and night.

Just a small squirt of this onto a cottonwool pad will leave your skin looking and feeling squeaky clean, while there will also be a noticeable glow. My pores also seem to have shrunk since using this, which is nothing short of a miracle! On a good day, my pores are the size of dinner plates, while my T-Zone tends towards an oil slick.

Good Things is ideal for those with younger skin. Developed by the award-winning beauty journalist Alice Hart-Davis, the range uses gorgeous, natural products to really boost and make the most of your skin.

I cannot rate this product highly enough. And with all the products in this range super affordable, I will be sure to get testing some more!

Arran Aromatics Parfumeur Ultimate Fig Candle
£19.50 from here

This candle is absolutely, utterly divine. As soon as I lit it, I fell head over heels in love with the sexy smell which, even now, I can't completely describe. All I can say is that it magically appears to be both musky and sweet at the same time - a complete contradiction in terms.

Anyway, not only does it smell great,  but it also managed to scent my entire house. How on earth did that happen?! (yes, yes, I know all about diffusion - I'm just amazed that a candle has the ability to scent every single room!)

It comes in a lovely, elegant glass holder which I'm proud to have perched on my fireplace, and also seems to be lasting me forever. In the winter, I have a habit of burning candles all day long (the flickering from the flame always makes me smile) and I've yet to make a dent in this wax.

This is a great candle for putting on before guests are due to arrive, and I've had numerous people asking me where it is from. If you do like fig, it's worth checking out Arran Aromatics other products in the range - they have room sprays, perfumes and body lotions! All available from here: http://www.arranaromatics.com/

Korres Body Butter in Fig
£11.50 from Cult Beauty

Reported fans of this incredibly body butter include the goddess-like Charlize Theron which, to me, makes this worth the purchase alone.

To me, Korres body butters are some of the best on the market. They are luxurious and effective but without that eye-wateringly expensive price tag that would scare so many (me included!) off.

This body is beautifully rich and nourishing and is perfect for using all over the body. It's especially brilliant in pepping up those niggly dry spots on your knees, elbows and heels.

The body butter contains fig extract to both tone and regenerate the skin, while other key ingredients include shea butter, almond and avocado oils to help restore elasticity and smoothness. What else do you need in a body butter?!

Not only does it leave your skin super soft (it is ideal for use in winter months), but its scent is gorgeous and long-lasting, unlike many other scented body lotions. Sorry, you may have gathered by now that I am a bit biased towards the scent of figs.

After using this, my skin feels like a baby's - and, incredibly, it stays that way all day. While this cream is heavier than many body lotions, it absorbs really easily. In fact, it's easy to see why it has become a cult beauty buy!

Kurt Geiger Shoe Porn

I have lusted after Kurt Geiger shoes for pretty much as long as I can remember. In fact, it is one of the few websites I check each and every day for an instant pick-me-up - I challenge any girl who doesn't smile when she stumbles across a beautiful shoe.

I have a few of my favourite pairs of KGs lined up in my shoe room (aka my spare bedroom) and, every time someone walks in there, they ignore most of my other heels and head straight for these beauties. While they're not easy to walk in (sometimes impossible!), they are shoes which instantly grab people's attention and get everyone talking.

With my obsession with pastel and neon shades this season (sorry, I mention this in pretty much every post!) I thought I'd share with you Kurt Geiger's new collections. While they don't come cheap, I genuinely think a good pair of shoes is the perfect way to update your wardrobe.

And, oh! Aren't these babies utterly gorgeous? Instant porn for any fellow shoe fetishist!

They also happen to have some fantastic accessories too, with bags and jewellery starting at really reasonable prices...

Go on, give yourself a Monday lift and have a browse (read: shop!)

NOT Into This.....

1.  Stubbing your toe it really hurts. Or like Teresa, smashing your thumb in a door. OUCH!

2.  People who spit in the street. You spit near me, I should be allowed to kick you in the face.

3.  Cheap perfume. You stink.....next.

4.  Long toenails - feet talons are NOT allowed.

5.  People who say "yous" or "yourself" instead of the proper word "you". Or "myself" instead of "I".

6.  Those little smelly trees that people put in cars to smell nice. They don't smell nice. They smell like
     baby sick.

7.  Yes you may have a cold but please DO NOT blow your nose near me. The thought of your sloppy
snot makes me gag! And why on earth do you then open the tissue to have a good look at it
     afterwards?

8.  Traffic calming measures. They have recently installed a lot of speed bumps on a road I use everyday.
I know some people drive like maniacs but please stick up a speed camera, not punish us good drivers
with stupid obstacles in our way. I will happily hire a jackhammer and remove said bumps.

9.  Paninis. These pathetic flat french bread things which seem to be the only food served at many high
street coffee houses and they taste like crap. I never think to myself "Ooh, I really fancy a panini for
my lunch". No! I want something which doesn't have a filling resembling something a drunken
reveller vomited up the night before.

10. Dogs with disproportionately large genitals. I hate it when you see their balls swinging from side to
side and then to add insult to injury they sit down and flash a bright pink lipstick at you.

A big THANK YOU to Jenny for contributing the first six rants to this week's moan.
