You might think I'm slightly bonkers writing about chocolates now, just days after Valentine's Day (aka the celebration of all that is cocoa).
Well, perhaps I am a bit of a fruit loop, but hear me out first. Not only is writing about chocolate on V-Day boring and predictable, but when chocolates are this good, why save them for one day of the year? Why not treat a loved one 'just because'? Why not indulge and treat yourself simply because it's Friday?
Actually, scrap that. Do you really need an excuse to buy chocolate? Nope, me neither...
Bearing in mind that we are the ultimate chocoholics, Teresa and I were thrilled when The Chocolate company first contacted us and suggested we review their champagne truffles. Better still, they arrived on my doorstep on Friday morning, just in time for our girly day in. Hurrah!
It perhaps will come as no surprised that we wasted no time in scoffing our treats. They went down within seconds - they really are that good! Flecked with edible 24 carat gold, these chocolates taste (and look) absolutely divine. They are heaven in the mouth! No wonder the company says they provide 'the most luxurious chocolate experience in the world'.
As I ate mine, I had a huge, dirty grin on my face. I rolled the ganache over and over my tongue, and I just could not stop smiling. Delicious!
Sold in Harrods, The Chocolate is the ultimate in luxury, decadent treats. They take only the finest chocolate in the world (discovered in Pisa after a two year search!), which also happens to have won the 'Golden Bean' award for best bean to bar. It sounds like something from Willy Wonka, right?
Taking this, they add their top-secret recipe (it really is top-secret - they won't even reveal the ingredients!) for champagne ganache and box it all up in a pretty, Swarovski-adorned box. Et voila - there you have the world's most gorgeous chocolates!
While these chocolates certainly aren't cheap (prices range from £20, right up to £400), they really and truly are special. If you know someone who needs a bit of TLC, I highly recommend buying them these...you will fast become their best friend!
