Little Black Book - Marmalade Meringue

I've been meaning to write about the gorgeous Marmalade Meringue for months now because it is one of my favourite, favourite shops.

Based in mine and Teresa's hometown of Hinckley, Leicestershire, this is the place we go to when we're looking to buy unique and beautiful gifts for all of our favourite people. And maybe when we're in need of a little treat ourselves...

Started last year by gorgeous mother and daughter team, Trudy and Tilley, Marmalade Meringue is destined for great things - in fact, they only just missed out on winning a newcomer award in a glitzy awards do at The Lancaster Hotel in London.

Honestly, I don't think it's possible to visit this shop without feeling instantly at home. Trudy and Tilley are two of the loveliest, friendliest people imaginable and the whole store is warm and cosy, full of exciting nooks and crannies to explore.

Overflowing with magnificent clocks, shabby chic mirrors, Tiffany lamps, and every other trinket imaginable, it really and truly is a treasure trove of stunning homeware. In fact, it's one of those shops which you have to circle a million times to truly appreciate everything...

And if that's not enough to get you visiting, they also happen to double up as a cafe, selling gorgeous  sarnies and huge, doorstep slabs of homemade cake. The Victoria sponge, served with raspberry coulis and fresh raspberries, is a particular favourite of ours.

In fact, I haven't ever left the store without buying something (I'm currently trying to resist buying their entire baby range for Bump's nursery). This one is a big, fat must visit for any lady...

Here are some of our favourite things:
