Shake Your Tassels

When someone says tassels, what kind of image does it conjure up for you?  A burlesque dancer shaking her nipple tassels?  Curtain tiebacks?  Or Tommy Cooper's fez?  For me, I think of the dusky pink wall lights which adorned most living room walls during the eighties - think Hyacinth Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances.  Either way I have never thought of tassels as something stylish, but that all changed during a recent shopping trip to Selfridges in Birmingham.

Whilst walking around with my partner in crime, Mrs Samantha Hadadi, a certain Vivienne Westwood dress caught my eye and on closer inspection I soon developed some respect for the tassel.  I loved it.

Since seeing this impressive print it encouraged me to look for more things embellished with tassels and I thought I would share with you some of the amazing tassel items I have found.

This Hermes scarf would look perfect with a camel coat.

Now these tassels are certainly not a throwback from the eighties; these are bold, bright and beautiful.  Bang on trend!

This silver antique albertina watch chain is so so pretty and it can also be worn as a bracelet.
These fantastic clip-on earrings are an absolute steal for £14.  I would most definitely shake these about whilst wearing them - in my ears, not on my nipples!
And a nod to the Pantone colour of 2012 here is a tangerine leather tassel keyring.

Let me know if you have seen anything strutting its stuff with some tasty tassel action.  I am tassel mad now and want to buy lots of.

I am SO into tassels.
